Images, stock photos and AI images

Image elements, galleries, backgrounds and every other image field open the same media picker. Whatever you choose becomes a normal WordPress Media Library item — nothing is hot-linked from another site.

Media Library#

Your site’s images, with a badge showing where each came from (a stock photo, an AI-generated image). Images already imported are reused rather than downloaded twice.

Free photos#

Search free photos you can use commercially. Native AI searches Openverse for openly licensed photos — public domain and CC0 first — and, when the Native AI service offers them, Unsplash and Pexels.

• The photo you choose is added to the Media Library with its creator, license and a link to the original.
• Photos marked Credit need their credit shown where they appear; the credit is saved as the image’s caption. The others don’t need one.

Generate an image#

Describe the image and pick a shape; your brand colors are offered to steer it. The Generate button shows what it costs in credits before you click. Generated images are saved with the prompt and model that made them.

Working with an image#

• Replace it, or Regenerate a generated image from its prompt — the new version is a new Media Library item, and undo brings the old one back.
• Crop or edit in WordPress opens WordPress’s image editor; the image refreshes when you come back.
• Frame crops it to an aspect ratio without changing the file, and Focus point says which part stays in view — per breakpoint.
• Import to Media Library turns a pasted image URL into a proper Media Library item.
• Set alt text for every image that carries meaning; the AI writes alt text for the images it places.

Background images#

A background image uses the same picker. Choosing one replaces only the image layer and keeps any gradient or overlay on top of it, and sets sensible defaults (cover, centered, no repeat).

Images and the AI#

When the AI builds a page, it looks in your Media Library first, then free stock photos, and generates an image only where that suits the section (and uses credits). Everything it picks is imported into the Media Library with alt text. The review after creating a website counts images by origin, so you know which stock photos to check and which images were generated.
