The SEO audit
How Native AI checks every page and the site — titles, descriptions, headings, the focus keyword, images, links, indexing, structured data, readability — and scores them out of 100.
Run audit loads each published page the way a visitor gets it and checks it, then the site as a whole. It runs in the background (a few seconds for small sites), every week when SEO → Settings → Advanced → Audit the site every week is on, and a page is checked again shortly after it’s saved. When a host blocks a site’s requests to itself, the page’s content is checked instead.
Each page#
| Area | Checks |
|---|---|
| Status | The page loads (no error). |
| Title | Present, 30–60 characters, only one title tag, not replaced by the theme or another plugin. |
| Description | Present, written for search results (not just the start of the text), 120–160 characters, only one. |
| Focus keyword | In the title (near the start), description, main heading, opening text, address, a subheading and an image’s alt text; used often enough but not stuffed. |
| Content | Enough words (300 for posts and products, 100 for other pages); one H1; headings in order; subheadings in long text. |
| Images and links | Alt text on every image; links to other pages of the site; no links without text. |
| Indexing | Hidden from search on purpose or not; a noindex nobody asked for; a canonical address pointing elsewhere. |
| Sharing and technical | An image for social sharing; structured data (and none broken); a mobile viewport; the page’s language; a short address. |
| Readability | Sentence and paragraph length. |
Each check is good, could improve or a problem, with what to do. The score weighs them; a page that errors, has no title or is hidden by mistake can’t score above 40.
The site#
- Search engines discouraged, plain permalinks, no HTTPS, the sitemap off, a robots.txt file on the server, another SEO plugin active.
- The same title or description on several pages; the same focus keyword on several pages.
- Pages nothing links to; links to pages that don’t exist (checked by loading them).
- Missing addresses people keep visiting; images in the Media Library without alt text; pages without a written description.
- Little known about the business, WordPress’s default tagline, no site icon, the home page hidden.
The site’s score is 70% its pages’ average and 30% the site’s own checks. Issues lists everything, problems first, with the pages each affects.
